Morgan Mullan Spotlight: Building a School Club That Gives Back

Morgan Mullan believes that meaningful change often starts with stepping outside of your comfort zone. A sophomore at Pine Lake Preparatory, Morgan is passionate about baking, staying active, traveling and finding ways to give back to her community. This school year, she turned that passion into action by launching a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer club at her school.

What began as a new idea quickly grew into something much bigger. Partnering with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, Morgan organized bake sales and fundraisers that brought together students, parents and community members united around a shared goal of supporting kids fighting cancer. While taking on a leadership role felt intimidating at first, Morgan leaned into the experience and found encouragement through the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer team, who helped guide her every step of the way.

The response exceeded her expectations. More than 50 students signed up for the club, and Morgan began hosting regular meetings to plan bake sales and fundraising initiatives. Through these events, she’s built connections across her school and discovered how powerful it can be to lead with purpose.

“People love to come buy cookies for a good cause,” Morgan shared. “It’s been so rewarding to see how excited everyone is to support something bigger than themselves.”

Through Cookies for Kids’ Cancer’s leadership program, Morgan has developed skills that extend far beyond fundraising, learning how to organize, collaborate and lead within her community. For her, the organization’s welcoming and supportive environment has made all the difference.

“Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is an incredible cause, but it’s also an inclusive team that truly wants to help you succeed,” she said.

Get Involved and Make a Difference

Since starting her club in September 2025, Morgan has continued hosting school bake sales and looks forward to expanding her efforts in the future. Her story is a reminder that age is never a barrier to making an impact, and that a batch of cookies can spark real change. With the right support and motivation, anyone can help move pediatric cancer research forward.
