Sister Spotlight: Mya and Aysia Making Impacts
For sisters Mya and Aysia Cobb, giving back has always been part of their story. This Siblings Day, their journey is a reminder of the unique bond sisters share and the impact they can make together. Growing up, they saw firsthand the power of community support through their mom’s work with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. What started as something close to home has grown into a shared passion and now, they’re finding their own ways to make a difference, together.
During college, both Mya and Aysia looked for opportunities to bring people together around a cause that matters. Mya, who serves as a marketing intern with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, saw how simple fundraisers like bake sales could easily fit into busy student schedules. Aysia, in her role as co-chair of Community Engagement on her university’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee, focused on creating opportunities for teammates and staff to get involved in ways that felt accessible and engaging.
Together, they’ve shown that fundraising doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective. It simply takes heart, creativity and a willingness to start. While Mya and Aysia both chose to fundraise through bake sales, their story is a reminder that there are countless ways to get involved with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, each one making an impact in its own way.
“My tip for hosts? Have fun and be creative,” Mya shared. “When you bring your own energy and ideas, people naturally want to be part of it.”
Aysia agrees. “Start small and don’t overthink it. Share your ‘why’ and lean on your community. People want to help.”
Their approach reflects what makes Cookies for Kids’ Cancer so powerful: the ability for anyone, anywhere, to turn everyday moments into meaningful impact.
This National Siblings Day, Mya and Aysia remind us that support often starts close to home and when families, friends and communities come together, the impact can reach far beyond a single event.
