The Good Cookie Challenge is Back!
If you’ve been looking for a simple way to stay active this summer, this is it.
The Good Cookie Challenge is back and this year, we’re keeping it simple. Throughout the month of June, move 25 miles, raise $250 and celebrate the $25 million Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has granted to pediatric cancer research.
No complicated training plan. No overwhelming commitment. Just small, intentional actions that add up to something real.
Because summer doesn’t need to be about extreme fitness goals or rigid routines. It can be about getting outside, moving your body in ways you enjoy and being part of something bigger than yourself.
Walk your neighborhood in the morning. Go for a sunset run. Take a weekend hike. Bike with friends. However you choose to move.
And every mile you log helps fuel something far more important: progress for kids fighting cancer.
Why 25 Matters
This year’s challenge is rooted in a milestone: $25 million granted for pediatric cancer research.
That impact has helped researchers access tools, supplies and lab time they need to develop new, improved and less toxic treatments.
This year’s challenge is rooted in the number that represents that progress. Here’s how it works:
-Move 25 miles.
-Find 10 people to donate $25 each
That’s $250 raised, a tangible and achievable goal that directly supports critical research.
No big ask. Just a clear, doable way to make a difference. Oh yeah, and if you raise the $250 by June 15th, you’ll get a Hydro Flask as a thank you!
Fundraising Made Simple
Start With Your Inner Circle
Fundraising can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. The key is to keep it personal and start with the people who already want to support you.
Think about 10 friends, family members or coworkers you can reach out to directly. A quick text or email explaining why you joined the challenge and what it means to you goes a long way.
You don’t need a long message. Just be real.
-
Share why pediatric cancer research matters to you
-
Explain the goal: 25 miles, $250
-
Ask if they’d consider donating $25 (or any amount)
-
Make sure to include your fundraising link!
People are far more likely to give when they feel personally connected to your “why.”
Use Social Media to Build Momentum
Once you’ve reached out individually, amplify your impact by sharing your journey.
Share your progress. Post photos from your walks or workouts. Talk about why you joined, and celebrate milestones along the way. There’s no one right way to do it. Focus on what feels genuine to you and be sure to include your fundraising link so people can easily donate, or add your Venmo username so supporters can quickly send contributions for you to bulk upload yourself.
Consistency matters more than creativity here. The more people see your commitment, the more likely they are to support it.
Small Actions Add Up
At its core, the Good Cookie Challenge is about showing up in small, consistent ways. And that’s the beauty of this challenge: it meets you where you are, fits into your summer and turns everyday movement into something meaningful. The impact goes far beyond the summer. The research funded today has the power to shape treatments, improve outcomes and create lasting change for children diagnosed in the future.
Because when enough people take small steps, it leads to big change. If just four participants meet the $250 fundraising goal, it funds an entire week of lab research. Now imagine what we can accomplish as a collective this summer.
